Celebrating Katie Lee’s Promotion to IVF Coordinator at Tennessee Fertility Institute
We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Katie Lee to IVF Coordinator! Katie’s dedication, expertise, and compassionate approach to patient care have made her a valuable part of our clinic, and we couldn’t be more excited to see her take on this new role. Katie will begin her onboarding to this new position in December 2024 and will join Dr. Jane Ruman’s team. We are confident that she will thrive in this next chapter of her career!
Katie’s passion for fertility care stems from her grandparents’ story, which deeply influenced her career path. In the 1960s, when fertility treatments were unavailable, her grandparents struggled to conceive and eventually adopted her mother. Their openness about their journey sparked a lifelong commitment in Katie. “I feel a strong calling to support those facing similar challenges,” she shares, reflecting on the personal roots that led her into this field.
Katie earned her degree in Biochemistry from the University of Tennessee in 2022, where she developed a deep understanding of early embryo development, gametogenesis, and environmental influences on fertility. Her academic foundation has played a crucial role in shaping her approach to patient care at TFI, allowing her to bring a scientific perspective to every interaction.
Before her promotion, Katie worked as a Medical Assistant, primarily focusing on patients undergoing intrauterine insemination (IUI) and ovulation induction with timed intercourse (TIC). During this time, she had the unique opportunity to shadow TFI’s physicians, gaining invaluable insights into the different stages of fertility treatment. “Each day presents a chance to learn something new from the interactions between physicians and patients,” Katie notes. Her hands-on experience has helped her appreciate the uniqueness of every patient’s journey, preparing her to provide even more comprehensive care in her new role.
As IVF Coordinator, Katie brings a patient-centered approach to fertility treatment. Her focus on clear communication, emotional support, and patient education ensures that every individual or couple that walks through TFI’s doors feels empowered throughout their journey. “My goal is to create a supportive environment where you feel heard, informed, and empowered,” Katie explains. She will work closely with Dr. Ruman to coordinate care, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed, making sure that every patient feels fully supported.
Outside of work, Katie finds balance through her love of nature, spending time with family, and her adorable dachshund, Maple. Whether she’s cooking, golfing, or exploring hiking trails, Katie enjoys staying active and embracing the joys of life. A fun fact about Katie? She’s lived in multiple states and multiple countries, including Utah, Colorado, New Jersey, London, Alabama, and now Tennessee!
Katie’s promotion is a testament to her hard work, passion, and commitment to her patients. We are excited for her to continue making a difference in the lives of families at TFI, and we look forward to seeing her excel in her new role as IVF Coordinator starting this December. Congratulations, Katie!
