Celebrating Lauren Pham’s Promotion to Embryologist I
At Tennessee Fertility Institute (TFI), we take great pride in the dedication and passion of our team members. We’re thrilled to celebrate the well-earned promotion of Lauren Pham to Embryologist I! Her journey to this role is a testament to her commitment to fertility care and her drive to help patients achieve their dreams of growing their families.
A Passion for Embryology
Lauren always knew she wanted to work in a lab—it was just a matter of finding the right path. While in college, she had the opportunity to shadow our Lab Director Jennifer Miller at TFI, and in that moment, everything clicked.
“It was like a light bulb went off, and I suddenly realized—this is it! This is what I want to do!”
Lauren pursued her passion by earning a B.S. in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry from Austin Peay State University (APSU).
Her Professional Journey
Lauren’s journey in fertility care began in 2021 when she joined the Inception Fertility Cryo Team as a Cryopreservation Coordinator. In this role, she assisted patients with billing, tissue discard requests, and cryopreservation inquiries. She later transitioned into the role of Specimen Transports Coordinator, where she facilitated shipping cryopreserved tissue across our Prelude Network® clinics.
After two years, Lauren took a major step toward her dream by joining TFI as an Embryology Lab Assistant in 2023. In this role, she focused on daily quality control (QC), dish-making, and oocyte retrievals—the foundational skills necessary for becoming an embryologist.
As of March 2025, Lauren has officially been promoted to Embryologist I, a milestone she describes as incredibly fulfilling.
“All of my hard work and dedication to reach my goal has paid off! I couldn’t be happier.”
In her new role, Lauren plays a hands-on part in fertilization checks and embryo transfers, while also training in embryo thawing and freezing. Additionally, she helps manage cryopreservation shipments for TFI, ensuring that patients’ reproductive tissues are carefully handled and transported.
Beyond the Lab
When she’s not in the lab, Lauren enjoys painting and creative projects, taking walks, and watching movies with her husband. One fun fact about her? She has picked up some Thai language skills over the years thanks to her husband, who was born in Thailand. The couple has even visited the country twice!
Looking Ahead
Lauren’s journey is a perfect example of how passion, perseverance, and hands-on experience can lead to a fulfilling career in embryology. Her dedication to fertility care makes her an invaluable part of the TFI team, and we can’t wait to see all she accomplishes in her new role.
Join us in congratulating Lauren Pham on her promotion to Embryologist I!
