About Dr. Ruman

Jane I. Ruman, M.D. brings over 20 years of experience in reproductive medicine to TFI. Dr. Ruman earned her medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she participated in nationally recognized research on factors that control embryo implantation. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where she continued to publish award-winning articles on infertility treatment.

After the completion of her residency training, Dr. Ruman was selected for a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia University, where she authored and co-authored several publications on egg donation and fertility treatment.

She then spent her clinical time at Reproductive Medical Associates of New York, where she served as a medical student and resident educator at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As a fertility doctor and OB/GYN, Dr. Ruman’s expertise spans the entire continuum of reproductive health, from trying to conceive to fertility treatment.

Dr. Ruman was fascinated by the intricate science involved in human reproduction, but it’s the patients themselves that sustain her love for her work today. Dr. Ruman works at both the Nashville and Franklin locations for Tennessee Fertility Institute.

  • “We traveled from Memphis after our local clinic told me I wouldn't conceive unless we used donor eggs after only 1 failed fresh "Hail Mary" embryo transfer. I am older and have low AMH and DOR and Dr. Ruman wasn't scared of any of that! From our first second opinion consult, she came up with a wonderful treatment plan for me. She gave me hope when I had none. I am thrilled to say we have a now 7-month-old baby boy! After 3 egg retrievals and egg banking, we ended up with 2 PGT-tested normal embryos and the first one stuck! He's the light of our lives and hopefully we will transfer our second next year. Highly recommend TFI.”
